Arsenal are ready to re-open talks for Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega according to the Mirror, and he should be the start of Unai Emery’s bargain hunt this summer.

He’s played 22 times this season, scoring three goals and making three assists in the process, but most importantly he’s been key in two Europa League victories and one Spanish Cup win. Arsenal could do with some trophy-winning experience in their ranks.

It’s widely known Arsenal won’t have much money to spend again this summer, and so the Gunners manager has an uphill battle on his hands to acquire the players with the technical ability to play his fluid, attacking system. The club will have to dig deep into their scouting network to find cheap talent capable of mounting a title challenge next season.

This Argentinian, however, has been under Emery’s watch for years now, having been managed by the Spaniard on two occasions, at Seville and Valencia. The fact he knows Emery’s system inside out could make him the perfect acquisition for Arsenal, who have struggled to adapt to the changes the manager has implemented at times this season.

The one concern would be his age because he turns 31-years-old in June and so can’t be considered a player for the future. However, his role may not be needed in the future anyway. Emery needs reliable players, who know his or similar ways of playing to usher Arsenal’s existing talent into line.

Yes, it would be preferable to have a player who is proven in a system like Emery’s and who is young enough to be the Gunners’ midfield lynchpin for the next ten years, but with the spending restrictions in place at The Emirates, the best of both worlds would simply cost too much.

His apparent £17m buy-out clause already looks an attractive proposition for what is a proven midfielder, but it he could turn into one of Arsenal’s best signings this decade if he can stamp his mark on their midfield and help the talent around him to adapt too. That could lead to a title challenge, and who knows, maybe even the Premier League trophy.

How do you think Arsenal should improve their midfield this summer?

West Bromwich Albion have hit top form at the perfect time in the Championship as they continue to chase down an automatic promotion place.

The Baggies are unbeaten in their last four Championship games and they’ve won their last two, with only one point separating them from the automatic promotion places at this moment in time.

One rising star in the current campaign at the Hawthorns has been Rekeem Harper, and it appears as if he’s set to sign a new deal in the Midlands, according to the Express and Star.

Indeed, the 18-year-old has established himself as a regular in the middle of midfield for the Baggies in recent times. He’s shown great maturity levels for a man of his age and he’ll only get better from here on in, so Darren Moore really does have a special talent at his disposal.

Of course, the Englishman has all the ingredients to become a hero at the Hawthorns as he’s already given the fans plenty to shout about, with his no-nonsense defending and passing ability making him a well-rounded midfielder. And, he’s already managed to aid the Baggies’ promotion push this season and will play a huge part from here on in, with his recent performances suggesting that he may already be ready for Premier League football.

Not many would have predicted that Jurgen Klopp would start the Senegal international through the middle against Watford on Wednesday in Firmino’s absence through injury, given the German had Salah, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi to choose from.

However, that is exactly what he did and the former Southampton man impressed in the centre, scoring two goals in the opening 20 minutes of the 5-0 success against the Hornets.

Mane has the pace and sheer unpredictability that perhaps someone like Firmino doesn’t, and even if the Brazilian is back it is the African star that could keep the spot he excelled in during the week, considering he can also play behind the striker or out wide.

يرغب أسطورة كرة القدم الهولندية، دينيس بيركامب، لاعب آرسنال وإنتر وأياكس الأسبق، في تدريس ما تعلمه من يوهان كرويف، عندما عاصره في الدوري الهولندي.

بيركامب بدأ مسيرته المهنية في أياكس من 1986 حتى 1993 قبل أن ينتقل إلى إنتر ويرحل في 1995، ثم يتجه نحو آرسنال، ويشهد ملعب هايبري تألقه مع المدرب آرسين فينجر، حتى 2006، قبل أن يعلن اعتزاله كرة القدم، وخلال تلك الفترة كان دوليًا مع منتخب هولندا منذ 1990 حتى 2000.

بعد اعتزاله، بدأ بيركامب مسيرته المهنية الجديدة كمساعد في أياكس، وكان مسؤولًا بشكل أساسي عن تدريب المهاجمين، قبل أن يتوقف في 2017.

وفي تصريحاته لهيئة الإذاعة البريطانية “BBC”، قال بيركامب: “معظم الناس ينظرون إلى لاعبي كرة القدم ويقولون، يا إلهي! يا له من أسلوب جيد، وعمل جيد، لكن هناك ما هو أكثر من ذلك بكثير”.

وأوضح: “لقد تعلمت منذ وقت طويل عندما كنت مجرد طفل في أياكس، وأعمل مع كرويف، الكثير، وأعتقد أنه من المهم تدريس نفس هذه الدروس حتى يتعلمها الشباب”.

وواصل: “في أياكس، تعلمنا أن اللاعب يتكون من أربعة أجزاء، تكتيكي وفني وجسدي وذهني، وإذا كنت تريد أن تصبح لاعبًا محترفًا، يجب أن تتطور في هذه الأجزاء”.

وعن يوهان كرويف، قال أسطورة آرسنال: “كانت فكرته تقويتي وكنت مراهقًا حينها، أرسلني إلى فريق أقل في أياكس لاستفزازي، وضعني خارج المباريات كثيرًا، حتى تطورت على المستوى الذهني والجسدي، ثم بعد ذلك، بدأ العمل على موقعي في الملعب”.

واختتم: “لقد لعبت في 3 مراكز، وتأثرت طريقتي في اللعب إيجابيًا بذلك، وفي النهاية الفضل يرجع لـ يوهان كرويف”.

Wolverhampton Wanderers starting XI regular Matt Doherty was left on the substitutes’ bench for the 2-0 win against Cardiff City on Saturday with winger Adama Traore starting in his spot at right wing-back, and his position could now be under serious threat.

What’s the word, then?

Well, Nuno Santo decided to take action following the 1-0 defeat against Huddersfield Town in midweek by making five changes for the visit of the Bluebirds, with a report in The Express & Star suggesting that Doherty was one of the players that was rested, rather than dropped.

Summer addition Traore has found first-team minutes hard to come by this term with the majority of his outings being cameos from the substitutes’ bench, but he was finally given a rare chance after being named in the manager’s side.

The 23-year-old may have been slightly nervous beforehand about playing a role that requires plenty of defending, but it certainly didn’t show on the pitch as he excelled.

Doherty in danger?

He could well be.

The 27-year-old has started all but two of Wolves’ 29 Premier League fixtures during the current campaign, with the only other time he didn’t make the XI being in the 4-3 win against Leicester City in January.

Santo may have had some slight doubts as to whether Traore could adapt defensively, and while the west Midlands outfit weren’t up against the greatest of opposition he still did an impressive job before returning to his favoured wing position early in the second half.

The Spaniard can finally give Doherty the competition for his spot that has been severely lacking and probably led to some complacency on the Republic of Ireland international’s part.

وقام باتشيكو بإيقاف المران لتوضيح المطلوب من اللاعبين في الملعب، وضرورة عدم فقدان الكرة من خلال أداء التمريرات السريعة.

وقال باتشيكو للاعبين: “من سيفقد الكرة عليه القتال لاستعادتها، أريد التمرير الجيد أولًا”.

كما طلب باتشيكو من عمرو عبد السلام مدرب حراس مرمى الفريق تنفيذ بعض التدريبات الفنية لحراس المرمى منها كيفية التعامل مع التسديدات من المدى البعيد بجانب التركيز على الارتقاء بالشكل الأمثل في الكرات العالية.

 وأحضر عبد السلام بعض الأدوات التدريبية الجديدة لتنفيذ مطالب المدير الفني الجديد وبدء العمل عليها.

وعقد مدحت عبد الهادي مدرب الفريق جلسة مع أليكس كوستا المدرب العام بالجهاز الفني الجديد بالزمالك من أجل توضيح الصورة له عن بعض الأمور الفنية الخاصة بالفريق.

ونقل عبد الهادي خلال التدريبات بعض النقاط عن مباراة الفريق الأخيرة أمام الجونة بعدما استعرض معه المدرب البرتغالي عدد من النقاط الفنية التي قام بتدوينها بعد المباراة في تقرير فني الذي أطلع عليه باتشيكو”.

وخضع المغربي محمد أوناجم إلى برنامج تأهيلي خاص بأداء مران في صالة الجيمانزيوم بالنادي ثم خوض بعض التدريبات التأهيلية تحت إشراف عمرو المطراوي.

Leeds United are currently on course to achieve automatic promotion into the Premier League at the end of this season. The Whites are second in the Championship, behind only Norwich City. 

However, the Yorkshire club’s triumph is by no means certain. Sheffield United are hot on their heels and there’s still plenty of time for the Whites to capitulate.

Slipping into the play-offs at the end of the season would be a sickening outcome for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, who have been in and around top spot for the most of the campaign so far.

Although the play-offs would still give them a chance of going up, Danny Mills believes that this is an opportunity that the club would fail to take.

What he said

Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT (12/03, 12:45pm), as quoted by HITC, the former Leeds and England full-back said: “The fear is if they drop into the playoffs like they have done in the past, it goes wrong. And that’s a big, big fear. It’s always that team that have been so close in the top two pretty much all season, at the very last minute, you drop into the playoffs, there’s a huge disappointment and a big sigh.”

Prepared to bounce back

Certainly, the disappointment of missing out on automatic promotion could knock Leeds off their stride and batter their confidence.

If, in this situation, morale were to be allowed to ebb away at Elland Road then there would be no chance of success in the play-offs. In that sense, Mills’ fears are perfectly legitimate.

However, fans can take heart from how well their side have reacted to disappointments at times already this season. Frustrating defeats to QPR and Norwich City were both followed up with more positive results. This ability to bounce back is something Leeds will have to call on if they end up in the play-offs.

ووضح سونيس وجهة نظره في تصريحات لشبكة “سكاي سبورتس”، وقال: “ما سأقوله هو أن فريق أستون فيلا لم يقصوا عشب الملعب لفترة طويلة من أجل إبطاء حركة لاعبي ليفربول!”.

وتابع: “الأمر نفسه سيؤثر على كلا الفريقين لكن جميع الفرق الكبرى تريد العشب القصير وهو ما يزيد من سرعة تحرك الكرة”.
