There’s nothing better than beating one of your rivals to a signing. With that in mind, if Arsenal can bat off the competition to capture Hakim Ziyech it’d send a huge statement to the rest of the top six.

The 26-year-old right winger is another rising star Ajax have thrown into the limelight this season and the Mirror claimed in late April that the Gunners, Man City, Man United and Liverpool are all interested in signing him up. Indeed, Arsenal should put all their weight behind this guy and forget Dennis Praet.

Unai Emery’s side are also believed to be after Praet according to the Daily Star, but he’s miles behind Ziyech considering he’s still playing for Sampdoria rather than one of Europe’s top clubs. He may be younger, but Arsenal need success now.

Ziyech has shone in the Eredivisie this season, scoring 16 goals and making 15 assists. He’s even scored two and assisted three this Champions League campaign, so he can certainly perform in more competitive matches too. What’s there not to like about that?

He’d be a huge upgrade on their attacking players already, and that includes outgoing Aaron Ramsey. If they sign him he’ll make Arsenal’s attack unbearable to defend against because they’ve got such depth up there. It’ll have a phycological impact on their rivals too.

If Arsenal can beat their main rivals to his signature, it shows they’re ready to battle for the title with the likes of Liverpool and City. They have some way to go, but if they can pull this off, they can make it all the way.

Leeds fans are on the cusp of making it back to the Premier League for the first time in years. To be exact, it’s been 15 years since the Whites kicked a ball in the top flight, and in that season they had the fantastic Lucas Radebe in the squad. Now, as they’re approaching a return to the top, Radebe has offered his support on Twitter for the club.

Leeds fans everywhere love Radebe and even now that their former defender is 50-years-old, the fans still salute him and call him by his nickname ‘Chief’. The South African has got so much respect from the fans of the Yorkshire club after he managed an impressive 229 games for the Whites, and even now they love seeing him showing his support for the Elland Road club.

This time around, Leeds fans have another cult hero Lucas Radebe type in Pontus Jansson. The Swede is yet to match the achievements of the South African at Elland Road, but Radebe is humble enough to want to see the current Leeds star make it further than he did. The Premier League is the start, and promotion is something the fans are dying for, so much so that the Whites want to see Radebe at Wembley should they make it to the playoff final.

Jack Harrison has been one of the most vehemently criticised players at Leeds United this season but he is beginning to showcase his class.

The divisive winger scored a vital goal to sink Sheffield Wednesday when automatic promotion was still on the cards in April, and he continued to underline his big-game mentality by providing a sumptuous assist for Kemar Roofe to put Leeds in control ahead of Wednesday’s second leg.

Harrison neatly worked the space with an outrageously deft one-two, and he followed up his intelligent build up with one of the most perfectly weighted crosses you’re likely to see this season.

That was undoubtedly the outstanding moment of his and Leeds’ performance but he was a constant threat for the visitors, so it was no surprise that supporters on Twitter were eager to pay tribute to the 22-year-old for his excellent display.

He is due to return to Manchester City in the summer when his loan spell expires but he could yet convince Marcelo Bielsa and the supporters that he is worth bringing to the club on a permanent basis with two more performances of this standard in the play-offs.

جوريتسكا لديه عقد ينتهي مع بايرن ميونخ، بعد عامين، في 30 يونيو 2022، ولكن النادي يهدف إلى تمديد عقده مُبكرًا لتفادي ما حدث مع ألابا، وفقًا لما ذكرته الصحيفة.

وقالت الصحيفة أنّ على الرغم من الأزمة المالية، فإن إدارة النادي البافاري تنوي مُكافأة جوريتسكا بزيادة راتبه أيضًا.

واوضحت الصحيفة أنّ جوريتسكا الذي يتقاضى راتبًا قدره ثمانية ملايين يورو سنويًا، سوف يحصل على راتب أعلى.

It has been a superb year to be a Barnsley supporter, hasn’t it?

Having witnessed their side secure an immediate return to the Championship by fighting off fierce competition from Portsmouth, Sunderland and Charlton Athletic to finish second in League One, the Oakwell faithful will understandably be excited to see how the 2019/20 campaign pans out for the Tykes.

Although Daniel Stendel will be confident about his side’s chances of competing next season, if they cannot agree a new deal with Adam Davies over the next few weeks, they may have to find a sufficient replacement for the goalkeeper.

An outstanding shot-stopper, the 26-year-old was one of the best players in the third tier last season and therefore would prove to be a big loss for Barnsley.

However, if he does leave the club, the Tykes could focus on trying to bring one of the most exciting prospects in non-league football to the club.

According to HITC, the Yorkshire-based side are amongst a host of clubs who are reportedly tracking AFC Fylde ace Jay Lynch whose current contract at Mill Farm runs out next month.

After experiencing a hugely impressive season in the National League last season in which he conceded just 44 goals in 48 appearances and kept an impressive total of 20 clean sheets, the former Accrington Stanley ace seemingly has all the ingredients needed to thrive at a higher level and therefore could be somewhat of a coup if Barnsley can secure his signature.

Having missed out on promotion to League Two last week after his side lost 3-0 in the play-off final to Salford City at Wembley Stadium, it may be worth the Tykes taking a risk on the 26-year-old when the transfer window opens in July.

If you were to ask a Liverpool fan a few years ago which academy player they expected to be a star, the most common answer would be Harry Wilson.

The Welsh playmaker was tipped for greatness in the early days of his Liverpool career after making his international debut at just 16 years of age, becoming the youngest ever player to play for the Dragons, and this season has seen Wilson really establish himself on the world stage.

The Wrexham-born winger has been a revelation at Frank Lampard’s Derby County this season, scoring 18 goals and assisting six.p Indeed, the Championship play-off final awaits Derby County after beating Leeds in the semi-final, and it has been Wilson’s performances that have caught the eye of many Liverpool fans.

The 21-year-old’s sensational campaign out on loan has seen fans call on Jurgen Klopp to involve Wilson in the first-team next season, and the German would be wise to listen to supporters.

Wilson will be a suitable backup for both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah with the Welshman able to play on both wings. The Reds aren’t exactly blessed with a large amount of wingers, so he could more than useful.

It might have taken a while, but Liverpool fans are finally getting to see what Wilson is capable of after years of promise, and now Klopp has to ensure the winger is included in his plans for next season.

Charlton secured promotion to the second tier on Sunday with victory over Sunderland at Wembley Stadium, but they certainly didn’t do it the easy way.

It looked like the SE7 outfit were going to fall at the final hurdle after a shocking start to the afternoon but Lee Bowyer’s side were able to pick themselves up and get the result they needed.

The former Newcastle boss will have given his starting XI plenty of thought ahead of the game but the match might have been much simpler if he had heeded Charlton Live’s warning.

On the chalkboard

Naby Sarr has been an absolute rock at the back for the Addicks this season despite a testing few years at The Valley and has even been keeping Jason Pearce out of the lineup in 2019, but he threatened to undo all that when Charlton hosted Doncaster in the play-off semi-final second leg.

As noted by Charlton Live, the gigantic Frenchman was nervous against Donny and podcasters Louis Mendez and Tom Wallin were concerned that he might not be up to the Wembley occasion, with the aforementioned Pearce perhaps the more sensible option at the back.

Bowyer kept faith in the former Sporting Lisbon defender, though, and might have been regretting his decision just five minutes into the high-stakes clash.

Of course, most of the blame for Charlton’s calamitous own goal should be shouldered by Dillon Phillips, who completely misjudged the path of the ball and allowed it to roll past his foot and into the net, but Sarr neglected to even look at his goalkeeper  before passing back to him at speed.

This kind of error is one born out of nervousness; it’s the last thing Charlton needed so early on and it’s something that Bowyer cannot legislate for.

Fortunately, Ben Purrington would equalise before half-time and the mistake wouldn’t matter in the end, but it will go down as one of the craziest moments in EFL play-off history and puts an unfortunate dampener on an otherwise brilliant season from the towering defender.
