Ilkay Gundogan has been voted the GMS Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month for January. In a poll run by fan engagement experts Snack Media, the midfielder took 24% of the vote after scoring five goals and making 10 dribbles. Burnley’s Nick Pope was in second place with 20%. 

In the first of five votes carried out over seven days via Snack’s digital and social networks, the 5 foot 11 German’s performances clearly struck a chord with Premier League fans up and down the country.

– Não houve tranquilidade, esse momento complicado, de não ganhar em casa, isso pesa. Em muitas bolas havia a condição de fazer o passe e a gente preferiu se livrar dela, agora tem que descansar porque no fim de semana tem mais – comentou.

جاءت نتيجة اختبار لوكا مودريتش سلبية لفيروس كورونا، وريال مدريد ينتظر الآن ما تخبرهم به رابطة الليجا لمعرفة ما إذا كان بإمكان الكرواتي التواجد في قائمة الفريق للعب في المباراة المقبلة أمام قادش.

وكان ريال مدريد أعلن إصابة مودريتش ومارسيلو بفيروس كورونا، وعقب ذلك أعلن أن الرباعي ماركو أسينسيو وجاريث بيل ورودريجو ولونين بالإضافة إلى دافيد أنشيلوتي مساعد كارلو أنشيلوتي، مصابون بكورونا.

ويأتي ذلك قبل مباراة الأحد، حيث يواجه ريال مدريد نظيره قادش ضمن منافسات الدوري الإسباني “الليجا”.

مودريتش في حالة انتظار، حيث أن بروتوكول رابطة الليجا، ينص على أنه إذا كانت نتيجة اختبار اللاعب إيجابية، فيجب أن يظل معزولًا لمدة 10 أيام بغض النظر عما إذا كانت نتيجة الاختبار التالية سلبية أم لا.

أما المباراة ضد أتلتيك بلباو المقرر خوضها الأربعاء، تعتمد على ما تحدده وزارة الصحة في حكومة الباسك، حيث إنها تخضع لتعليمات مختلفة، ولكن حتى الآن قال البروتوكول على هذا النحو: “إذا لم تكن نتيجة الاختبار إيجابية، فيجب أن تظل في عزلة لمدة 10 أيام على الأقل من ظهور الأعراض أو من وقت الاختبار”.

يتصدر لاعب بايرن ميونخ توماس مولر قائمة اللاعبين من حيث عدد التمريرات الحاسمة، في الدوريات الخمسة الكبرى في أوروبا هذا الموسم بعد انتهاء مباريات النصف الأول.

It’s taken time, but Gareth Bale is finally finding his feet again at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 31-year-old attacker has now scored four goals and assisted three more in his last four outings in all competitions, and he’s only started 50% in that run too, via Transfermarkt.

Given that the Welsh superstar only started 14 times for parent club, Real Madrid, last season, time was always needed to get him up to speed, especially with persistent injury niggles, which would have undoubtedly stalled his progress.

Throughout February, reports emerged suggesting that Bale was unlikely to be kept past his current loan spell in north London – indeed, according to AS journalist Carlos Forjanes, Jose Mourinho had ‘no interest’ in signing him permanently in the summer.

Which echoed the thoughts of former Spurs forward and caretaker boss Clive Allen, who suggested that Mourinho was “losing his patience” with the club favourite, via talkSPORT.

It’s now time for the Portuguese stalwart to take a U-turn, if those reports are to be believed, as Bale still has a lot to offer and with a proper pre-season under his belt, he could well become as devastating as he once was.

His influence in recent matches has helped Spurs stop the rot, having lost five of their last six in all competitions, before those four appearances.

Had he started against West Ham, then the result may well have been very different as he was graded as their highest-rated player (7.4) after only 45 minutes, having provided an assist, created a key pass and attempted three shots at goal, as per SofaScore.

That 7.4 rating has been his lowest across the last four games, with a high of 8.9 coming at the weekend as he demolished Burnley with two goals and an assist, on top of two successful dribbles and one key pass.

If he can keep this up, then a front three of Bale, Heung-min Son and Harry Kane is a mouthwatering prospect and ultimately, if all are in-form, one that could spearhead them towards silverware – something they are in line to do with the Carabao Cup on the horizon.

Last week, Mourinho showed a sign that things could be changing for the Welsh international, claiming he was “a player with special qualities” before suggesting at the weekend, he was “better than ever.”

Therefore, it’s time for the Spurs boss to change his mind about the long-term future of the £18m-rated star.

Fans love him, he’s sparked a turnaround in form, and it’s merely the beginning (even if it’s March).

Bale must remain in N17 past the current campaign.

Rob Lee has spoken exclusively to Football FanCast about Newcastle’s summer arrivals and says he expected more from Ryan Fraser after arriving with a big reputation.

Newcastle United seemed to have spent well in the summer bringing in Fraser, Callum Wilson, Jamal Lewis and Jeff Hendrick. However, that has not transpired onto the pitch with the exception of Wilson who has 10 goals to his name this season.

The Magpies have had their injury problems this season with Fraser being one of the more frequent members in the treatment room, which has disappointed Lee.

Fraser excited Lee when he arrived from Bournemouth after a number of big clubs were looking at him, however, he’s failed to deliver so far with injuries seemingly holding him back for large parts of this season.

In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Rob Lee spoke of who had disappointed him the most after a busy summer.

“I’d say Fraser for different reasons. I thought he was excellent at Bournemouth. Arsenal and a few big clubs were looking at him.

“I don’t know the reasons but he’s had niggling injuries.

“When they signed. I thought Lewis, Fraser and Wilson, were all good signings for us. I still believe that you just have to give them a chance.”

Newcastle have some favourable fixtures in the next few weeks so, Fraser has a chance to step up and be the man to guide the Magpies to safety.

Bruce will be hopeful his summer signing can showcase his form which made the club bring him in on a free transfer.
