Numerous fans of West Ham United have been reacting to a post on Twitter in which the club relayed post-match comments from David Moyes following the Hammers’ 3-3 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

While a point against a so-called ‘big six’ club is something that would not normally be sniffed at from West Ham’s perspective, the fact that the Hammers started the match seven points clear of their London rivals, as well as throwing away a comfortable three-goal lead in the fixture, resulted in Moyes giving a rather downbeat interview following the game.

The 57-year-old claimed that he felt his side got “sloppy” after racing into a 3-0 lead, as well as increasingly “feeling under pressure” after Arsenal netted their second goal of the game, before stating his belief that it was a “tough day” for his players due to the officiating performance of Jonathan Moss.

However, after West Ham relayed Moyes’ comments on Twitter, some fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to take aim at the Scot’s tactical set-up of his team – one fumed that the manager had “no ambition” – while others claimed that the manager bottled it against the Gunners.

Recently-appointed Charlton Athletic boss Nigel Adkins is probably best known for his spell at Southampton, and interestingly, there are a lot of similarities between then and now.

Both were former Premier League teams who were in rapid decline, both had large potential in terms of support with big all-seater stadia, and both were rescued by foreign investors.

There’s a lot the 56-year-old can take from that reign, which saw the Saints return to the big time after back-to-back promotions. Adkins had several key players, including Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, and the new Addicks may well have players in a similar mould at The Valley.

On the Chalkboard

Just like Lallana, Albie Morgan came through the academy system at Charlt0n, and whilst the Southampton legend had been a regular for the previous two seasons, the 21-year-old has established himself amongst the first team in south London.

He played a big part in both playoff campaigns, with his versatility and ability on the ball proving key to their fortunes. Indeed, These Football Times explained how Adkins ‘relied on’ the attacking midfielder throughout his tenure, whilst in 98 appearances, Lallana played both on the left and through the middle for him, as per Transfermarkt.

Under Lee Bowyer, Morgan had started to lose his place in the starting line-up, featuring in just two of the new Birmingham boss’ final six games in charge, but in 28 total appearances in all competitions this term, the 21-year-old dynamo has already played in seven different positions.

He has shown an ability to contribute goals, both from central midfield and on the right, having provided two goals and five assists so far. Morgan is among their most creative players, averaging 1.4 key pass per 90 minutes – only two other regularly-featuring Addicks players have managed more, as per WhoScored.

That passing ability was something noted by Bowyer, who told the club’s official website after Morgan’s second professional start: “I thought he was outstanding today in and out of possession. He’s 18-years-old, spraying the ball all over the place. I thought he worked his socks off.”

Again, that draws further similarities to Lallana, who has arguably made a career from being able to spray the ball about from midfield.

Perhaps Adkins already knows this – after all, the young academy gem started his first game in charge against AFC Wimbledon last weekend, playing 71 minutes at right midfield.

Dubbed “improving” and “maturing” by Bowyer, Morgan could well soon emerge as Adkins’ next Lallana in League One.

– Não é só o dinheiro que conduz a vida do atleta. É a forma de pensar e saber aproveitar o momento certo, as oportunidades. Independente do que estiver acontecendo durante a carreira, tem que ser consciente e ter a cabeça no lugar. Entender porque se alcançou um status de importância. Isso é o essencial – comentou.

Depois disso, os garotos e alguns membros das comissões técnicas questionaram o jogador e todos agradeceram o momento de troca de experiências. Por fim, Barcos aproveitou para saudar a oportunidade.

– É muito bom poder compartilhar a minha experiência com estes atletas. É sempre importante transmitir para eles a importância de defender as cores do Grêmio. Aproveitei para comentar com eles como será a forma de jogo que enfrentarão aqui na Argentina – concluiu.

Sheffield Wednesday are on the verge of making another disastrous error.

The Owls have already lost one of their most promising youngsters, and they could now be about to lose another.

Liam Shaw joined Hillsborough Stadium aged eight and only made his Wednesday debut in July last year, but after establishing himself as a first-team squad member, he’s now set to join Scottish giants Celtic following the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.

The south Yorkshire giants will only receive around £300k in compensation – a fraction of the money that would negate his absence from the squad over the coming seasons, as well as being way off his likely value given his massive potential.

And now a similar trend could continue as one of Darren Moore’s current starters is also out of contract ahead of the summer.

Osaze Urhoghide has thrived in the absence of several key defenders. Indeed, the 20-year-old gem has started nine of their last 13 league matches, playing in all three positions across the backline.

According to YorkshireLive’s Dom Howson, several top-flight teams, including Leeds United and Crystal Palace, are monitoring his situation at Hillsborough.

Wednesday are keen to keep hold of him and have offered fresh terms, but no agreement has been made – it could be a case of being too little, too late.

As things stand, the Owls are going to lose both Shaw and Urhoghide in the summer and that’ll be a devastating blow, irrespective of which division they’ll be competing in next season.

The academy starlet has proven to be a solid option at this level already. He’s still raw, but all the attributes are there. And Moore knows that too.

Speaking after their recent 2-1 win over arch-rivals Barnsley, the Owls boss waxed lyrical about Urhoghide, he said (via The Star): “I don’t like to pick out individuals because I thought they were all excellent, but he was immense today in terms of his performance. In terms of his contacts, in terms of getting in the radar of the opponents and spoiling it – he was absolutely rock solid.”

Unlike Shaw, if Urhoghide does depart south Yorkshire, Wednesday will be entitled to very little as, unfortunately, he’s not a homegrown player.

Given the likely reshuffling of the squad under a new exciting manager this summer, Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri must do all he can to tie the 20-year-old beast down – he’s a player worth building around.

Urhoghide ranks sixth in the squad for average WhoScored rating (6.66), which is ahead of some big names in Adam Reach (6.55), Liam Palmer (6.51), Josh Windass (6.49) and even Shaw himself (6.39).

Chansiri is certainly heading for another disaster at Wednesday. The young defender must be the top priority right now.

Apesar do mau momento que vive o Vasco, sem vencer a seis jogos (cinco pela Série B e um pela Copa do Brasil), o técnico cruz-maltino estava com semblante tranquilo. Jorginho contou que está encarando a situação de forma natural. Segundo ele, o time precisa saber lidar com isso.

– Com muita naturalidade. A vida é feita de desafios, de lutas. Ninguém consegue crescer se não tiver dificuldades. E isso é normal, como eu já falei, nossa vida depende de vitórias. Não tem nenhum clube que está perdendo que as coisas estão tudo bem, a não ser o Íbis, que a gente conhece bem. A gente vai estar sempre sob pressão, e é natural. Acostumamos nossa torcida mal, ou bem, sempre vencendo (risos). E no momento que teve uma queda de rendimento, é natural que aconteça essa pressão. E a gente tem que saber lidar com essa situação. Todo atleta, qualquer pessoa, tem que saber que ela pode viver momentos de grandes glórias, e outros de críticas – disse Jorginho, garantindo que os jogadores estão preparados para encarar a pressão.

– A gente vem trabalhando constantemente nessa questão com os nossos atletas. De não deixar que esse momento de desconfiança, que os torcedores e as pessoas tem dúvidas, afete. A gente já passou por isso, até mais difícil. Com certeza, nada vai se comparar com o que aconteceu ano passado. Nós conseguimos superar essa situação e vamos em busca nesse jogo agora de recuperar nossa situação.

Na partida contra o Oeste, Junior Dutra entra no lugar do volante Marcelo Mattos. Apesar da mudança, Jorginho garante que o time não vai se descuidar da parte defensiva na partida.

– A gente está procurando dar um equilíbrio a essa equipe, ofensivo e defensivo. Não quer dizer que com um atacante a mais a gente vai ser completamente ofensivo, sem uma responsabilidade defensiva. A gente ganha com certeza na parte ofensiva, mas também um equilíbrio a mais no meio-campo – analisou o treinador.

أصدر الدولي الفرنسي عثمان ديمبلي بيانًا رسميًا عبر حسابه الشخصي على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “إنستجرام”، لتوضيح العديد من الأمور بعد قرار نادي برشلونة برحيله.

برشلونة أعلن أنه لم يتوصل لاتفاق مع ديمبلي، وأكد ماتيو أليماني المدير الرياضي للنادي الإسباني، أن اللاعب أمامه 11 يومًا حتى نهاية سوق الانتقالات، لتحديد مصيره خارج البلوجرانا.

Southampton have reportedly been scouting Bristol City goalkeeper Daniel Bentley recently and if he were to join the Saints, he could become their next Kelvin Davis.

According to the Bristol Post, Southampton have had scouts in attendance at recent fixtures at Ashton Gate and have been keeping an eye on Bentley, as well as Antoine Semenyo, Tyreeq Bakinson and Han-Noah Massengo.

The former Southend United man has established himself as one of the top ‘keepers in the Championship during his time with Brentford and Bristol City and is currently valued at £3.6 million, which ranks him as the third-most valuable shot-stopper in the second tier, behind just David Raya and on-loan Newcastle United man Freddie Woodman.

If he were to make the move to St Mary’s this summer, he would presumably compete with Fraser Forster and Alex McCarthy for the number one spot in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad and if he could establish himself as first-choice, then he could enjoy a lengthy spell with the Saints.

There are definitely similarities between the deal that saw Southampton sign Davis from Sunderland in 2006 and any potential deal for Bentley.

The shot-stopper was brought in for around £1 million from Sunderland just a year after joining the Black Cats from Ipswich Town and would end up finishing his career on the South Coast, retiring in 2016 after 10 years with the club.

During that time, he would make 298 appearances for the club and was a crucial part of the side that won back-to-back promotions in League One and the Championship in 2011 and 2012.

Considering Bentley is just 27-years-old, there is no reason why he couldn’t also spend a decade with the Saints in a similar manner to Davis, and go on to become a legend with the club, albeit in the Premier League rather than the lower leagues.

Like Davis, Bentley would be joining from a Championship side and would likely arrive for a relatively low fee, so if he does make the switch to St Mary’s this summer, there seems no reason why he can’t emulate the Southampton legend.

أعلن ماتيو أليماني، المدير الرياضي لبرشلونة، الخميس، أنه سيتم بيع ديمبلي في يناير بعد فشله في إظهار التزامه تجاه النادي من خلال توقيع تمديد العقد، مع رد اللاعب نفسه عبر منشور على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي قال إنه لن يستسلم للابتزاز. 

ستويتشكوف هاجم بقسوة الجناح الفرنسي، متحدثًا إلى “TUDN” ونشرت صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية تصريحاته.

وقال: “إذا كنت لا تريد أن تكون في برشلونة، على الأقل لا تلطخ الشعار، اترك القميص وقل أيها السادة سأرحل”.

كما دعا لاعب برشلونة السابق، الرئيس جوان لابورتا، لفتح باب الخروج أمام ديمبلي، وتابع: “شكراً جزيلاً لخداعك الناس الذين يعرفون كيفية لعب كرة القدم، أقول لك إنني لعبت في هذا المركز، سيد لابورتا، افتح الباب واتركه يذهب”.

بالإضافة إلى ذلك، أشاد بقرار تشافي هيرنانديز بعدم استدعائه للمباراة الأخيرة في سان ماميس ضد أتلتيك بلباو في كأس ملك إسبانيا.

وأفاد ستويتشكوف:”أحييك كمدرب لأنك لم تضعه في القائمة لأن غرفة الملابس هذه تستحق الاحترام، مع 121 عامًا من التاريخ، نادينا وشعارنا يستحق الاحترام”.

وشدد: “لم يفهم ديمبلي أبدًا ما هو برشلونة، لقد شاركت كأجنبي لمعرفة ما هو النادي، منذ زمن كوبالا، كاراسكو،  لينيكر، خوسيه ماري بايرو وجوليو ساليناس، جميعهم عرفت القصة، لكن هو لم يعرفها أبدًا”.
