Tinha readquirido a titularidade hoje. O Norton fraturou a mão e continuou no jogo. É complicado – comentou o técnico do Fluminense.

Crammed itinerary reduces quality of international contests

The resting of first-choice players during major international series is causing concern for the Australian Cricketers’ Association

The resting of first-choice players during major international series is causing concern for the Australian Cricketers’ Association and reducing the value of top-level limited-overs contests. Australia are currently playing a series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates without the captain Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey and Mitchell Johnson, who are back home preparing for the tour of England from June.”The ACA has said for many years that international sport should always be the best against the best,” the chief executive Paul Marsh told the . “Unfortunately, for workload reasons, a high proportion of one-day internationals and Twenty20 games now don’t provide this contest. As such we are definitely concerned about the impact of resting the game’s biggest drawcards.”For those players in all three Australian teams, who are our most important players, the current schedule is unsustainable. They are away from home for roughly 10 months per year and this places a huge stress on players and families.”The changes in personnel for tours such as the one to the UAE alter the status of the Australian side from the best in the country to an outfit including more representatives from the fringes. “Some see this as a good thing as there are more players getting the opportunity to represent Australia,” Marsh said. “We don’t necessarily agree with that.”The opportunities for more players to represent Australia are a by-product of a volume of cricket that prevents first-choice players being able to play in all scheduled games. If the volume of cricket played was at a more reasonable level, I don’t think we’d see anything but our best available teams selected.”Postponed tours to Pakistan have contributed to the backlog of games, which means Australia will play almost non-stop from September 2008 to early in 2010. “If the fans think there is too much cricket then attendances and TV ratings will drop and revenue streams such as media rights and sponsorship will fall,” Marsh said. “Our view is that the amount of Test cricket is about right, but cricket needs less one-day games.”

Onyango was close to Everton squad

Many Everton fans have been left reacting to some news that has emerged on Tyler Onyango.

As per The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland, the youngster was close to making Rafa Benitez’s squad for their 5-2 loss to Watford at Goodison Park last weekend, following Abdoulaye Doucoure’s absence.

Onyango has apparently impressed behind the scenes since returning from injury, and is even seen by some as the ‘natural successor’ to Doucoure.

Of course, those are big boots to fill for an 18-year-old, but Onyango has already made his Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, with such a thin squad already and a few midfield players injured at the moment (Transfermarkt), perhaps Onyango may get his chance to impress away at Wolves in the Premier League on Monday night.

Everton fans on Onyango news

These Toffees supporters seemingly want Onyango to be given a chance after the news was shared on Twitter, with one Blue even going as far as to claim that he is a ‘great prospect’:

“Is he fit? Didn’t he go off at half time in under 23 game on Monday? I’d give him a go”

“Hopefully he’s in at the expense of Tom Davies for the next squad.”

“Let’s get him on the pitch ASAP he cannot be any worse than what we’ve got, need to give these promising youngsters a chance before they leave then we have to pay millions for them !!!”

“Get him in. I’d rather go to Wolves on Monday and watch the lad and get behind him than to see a certain few other individuals get yet another chance and not deliver.”

“He looks a great prospect but why has Gbamin not played?”

“Tyler Onyango has been high on my list of young players at the club who has technical ability but also physical attributes to make the step up. Discussed Doucoure replacements with @MightyBluesYT last season. Everton still have same issues under Benitez.”

Bahrain secure promotion to WCL Division 6

A review of the matches in the fourth round of the ICC World Cricket League Division 7 in Guernsey

Jeremy Frith’s hundred against Nigeria took hosts Guernsey closer to promotion to WCL Division 6•Barry Chambers

Bahrain sealed their place in the World Cricket League Division 6 in Singapore after a comfortable 196-run over Japan in Port Soif. Recovering from yet another top-order collapse at 24 for 4, when Patrick Giles-Jones picked up another five-for after the seven he took the previous day, half-centuries from Qamar Saeed (75 not out), Adil Hanif (73) and Ashraf Yaqoob (51) lifted them to 260. In reply, Japan couldn’t face up to the Bahrain attack, capitulating to 64, as Naeem Amin, Qamar and Yaser Sadeq remarkably finished with the same bowling figures of 3 for 15.Mohsin Kamal, the Bahrain coach, was delighted with the achievement. “Everybody is delighted as we have achieved the main target that we set ourselves before we had come here,” Kamal said. “Our other target is to try and win the final on Sunday. We have qualified for Division 6 and everybody hopes we can continue to progress to the top.”A century from Jeremy Frith inspired Guernsey to an eight-wicket victory over Nigeria leaving them a win away, in their final group game on Saturday, from securing the second promotion spot to Division 6.Nigeria, choosing to bat first, should arguably have reached a higher total than 217 after some disappointing Guernsey bowling. Endurance Ofem led the way with an unbeaten 78 but failed to inspire the rest of the batsmen. In reply, Guernsey had learned their lessons from the previous day’s poor run-chase against Bahrain and played more positively with some attractive strokeplay supported by aggressive running between the wickets. The 147-run partnership between Frith and skipper Stuart Le Prevost (59 not out) guided the hosts home with three overs to spare.Frith, who has now scored at least 50 in his last three matches, said the team were a little relieved with the result. “There was some big pressure on us to make sure we got a result,” Frith said. “I was really pleased to take the responsibility for getting the runs and take us over the line. There is a rest day tomorrow and we know we have to play well again on Saturday.”In the other match of the day, six wickets from legspinner Iain Latin helped Gibraltar beat Suriname by 39 runs. Batting first, a half-century from skipper Christian Rocca helped Gibraltar to 218, before Latin’s 6 for 23 ensured Suriname were bowled out for 179.Friday is a rest day in the tournament while in Saturday’s final group matches, Suriname play Guernsey, Bahrain take on Nigeria and Gibraltar play Japan.

Daqui a pouco perdemos o interno. Então do que adianta se preparar, estudar? Venho fazendo cursos sempre, me preparando.

Man Utd could unearth a gem in Charlie McNeil

Manchester United seemingly have a never-ending stream of highly-rated talent coming out of their famed youth academy, and Charlie McNeil could be the latest gem to make the step up to the senior ranks.

The 18-year-old’s journey has been far from straightforward, though. In 2013, the boyhood United fan decided to turn his back on the Red Devils and sign for local rivals Manchester City instead.

It’s believed that the clinical striker bagged over 600 goals for the Cityzens during his seven-year stay before turning down an extremely lucrative contract offer in order to return to the Old Trafford outfit.

A report in Goal outlined City’s hopes for the youngster a couple of years ago, claiming McNeil could fill the gap that Brahim Diaz and Jadon Sancho left following their departues to Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.

“McNeill is just 14 but has been making a name for himself in the City academy for the past few years,” Sam Lee wrote – now of The Athletic – in a piece titled ‘Brahim and Sancho gone – but Man City have other teenage sensations’.

The tall forward has proven to be impressive with both feet and has scored a bagful of goals at all junior levels: 110 goals and 38 assists in 72 games for City’s U15s and England‘s U16s.

“Those familiar with the City youth set-up believe he is one of the best prospects of any age group and is definitely one to keep an eye on in the coming years.”

However, Pep Guardiola’s charges were forced to wave goodbye to a third talented prospect in quick succession after McNeil turned down their offer in favour of making his United comeback.

And the teenager has certainly lived up to expectations in the red half of Manchester. In 23 appearances for the Under-18s last term. McNeil bagged an incredible 25 goals, providing a further six assists for his teammates.

His outstanding displays for Travis Binnion’s charges earned him a call-up to the U23s setup for the current campaign, although he’s finding life slightly tougher.

A return of two goals and one assist in 10 has left room for improvement, but given time to adapt and mature, McNeil will surely prove himself to be as deadly as ever in the weeks and months to come.

The Telegraph have previously described the attacker as a ‘lethal finisher’ who is ‘comfortable with both feet’, giving United fans plenty of reasons to be excited over the Englishman’s future prospects.
