Leeds: Ben Dinnery makes Crysencio Summerville claim

Injury expert Ben Dinnery believes that Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville may have a ligament problem following his ankle injury, as per Football Insider.

The Lowdown: Summerville out for the season

Summerville is among a number of Leeds players sidelined for the rest of the season and therefore hasn’t travelled with the squad for this afternoon’s crucial clash with Arsenal.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/latest-leeds-united-news-43/” title=”Latest Leeds United news!” poster=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/cropped-2022-03-10T184055Z_1834933207_UP1EI3A1FW561_RTRMADP_3_SOCCER-ENGLAND-LEE-AVA-REPORT-1-scaled-1.jpg” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

The 20-year-old picked up an ankle injury at Thorp Arch before the draw with Crystal Palace at the end of April. Jesse Marsch revealed that the youngster “twisted” his ankle, describing the season-ending problem as “disappointing”.

The Latest: Dinnery’s comments on Summerville injury

Dinnery, who contributes for Sky Sports, was talking to Football Insider regarding Summerville’s injury.

The injury expert stated that it isn’t impossible that the Dutch youth international has picked up an ‘avulsion fracture caused by a ligament problem’, which could keep him out for months. He outlined:

“This was a training ground injury on the eve of the Crystal Palace match.

“We have no mechanism of injury to go off. The terminology used gives us an indication that it isn’t too serious. There is no indication it will need surgery.

“If we were looking at the high end of the spectrum, it could be an avulsion fracture caused by a ligament problem. That would be months out.

“We can’t categorically rule that out. But based on what we know, a return to be fit for pre-season is more than realistic.”

The Verdict: Fingers crossed

Leeds fans may well have seen the last of Summerville in a Whites shirt, with rumours continuing over his future following his failed move to Hamburg in January.

Both Hamburg and Rangers have been heavily linked with the attacker in recent months, and he could depart Elland Road in search of regular game-time.

Only time will tell, but hopefully his ankle injury isn’t as serious as Dinnery claims it could be and that he will be fully fit for pre-season ahead of Marsch’s first full campaign in charge.

Leeds: Jesse Marsch shares Jack Harrison update

Sky Sports have shared comments from Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch on winger Jack Harrison after he went off injured against Chelsea.

The Lowdown: Another night to forget

The Whites fell to a third successive defeat on Wednesday evening in what was another evening to forget at Elland Road.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/latest-leeds-united-news-43/” title=”Latest Leeds United news!” poster=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/cropped-2022-03-10T184055Z_1834933207_UP1EI3A1FW561_RTRMADP_3_SOCCER-ENGLAND-LEE-AVA-REPORT-1-scaled-1.jpg” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

Marsch’s side conceded after just four minutes, had another man sent off in Dan James and failed to lay a glove on Thomas Tuchel’s side throughout.

Leeds also lost Harrison in the first half through injury, and it looks as if he could be another senior player to watch on from the sidelines for the final two games of the campaign.

The Latest: Harrison ‘update’

Sky Sports shared Marsch’s post-match interview with Marsch on live TV, relaying his comments on Twitter shortly after.

They asked the Leeds manager for an ‘update’ on Harrison, where he admitted he hoped it wasn’t too bad, however, Marsch added that the winger suffered a ‘contusion’ which ‘limited him from moving’.

Reliable reporter Phil Hay stated that Harrison will have a scan on the problem on Thursday morning.

The Verdict: Bad to worse

Leeds are running out of time and players in their bid to avoid the drop. Stuart Dallas, Luke Ayling, Adam Forshaw, Crysencio Summerville, Tyler Roberts and James are all out for the season through either injury or suspension.

So, should Harrison join that long list of absentees for the final two games, Marsch would be down to the bare bones out wide, with Raphinha also suffering an injury scare on Wednesday evening and was withdrawn late on as a precaution.

It looks as if the Whites need a miracle to avoid relegation, but hopefully, Harrison’s leg issue won’t be too serious and he can still play a part on the pitch against Brighton and Brentford.

Crystal Palace: Milivojevic considers exit

Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic is reportedly considering a departure from Selhurst Park this summer with former employers Olympiacos interested in re-signing the Serbian.

What’s the word?

That’s according to Inside Futbol, who claim that the 31-year-old could leave south London with game time under Patrick Vieira this term limited.

Milivojevic has made just 14 Premier League appearances this season, nine of which have been starts, with a place in the XI against Aston Villa last weekend his first in the top-flight since February.

The Serbian had been a kingpin in the Palace side under Roy Hodgson, but new manager Vieira hasn’t taken a shine to the 31-year-old who will undoubtedly be keen to play more frequently next term, which looks like it will be away from Selhurst Park.

Palace fans will be gutted

Although it will be the best outcome for Milivojevic, Palace fans will certainly be sad to see an excellent servant leave.

Since his move from Olympiacos in January 2017, the midfielder has gone on to make 176 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 28 goals and registering six assists.

Moreover, the Serbia international is still regarded as the club’s captain, taking the armband this season whenever he has started.

However, a departure for the 31-year-old would surely be a mini-disaster as it would leave the Palace midfield incredibly light and would certainly require Vieira to dip into the transfer market to sign at least one quality central midfielder.

With Conor Gallagher set to return to Chelsea upon the conclusion of his loan deal whilst James McArthur and Cheikhou Kouyate’s contracts are set to expire, only 27-year-old Will Hughes will be left.

The French manager has already demonstrated how he wants to integrate fresh, young talent into what was an ageing Palace squad with the likes of Michael Olise, Odsonne Edouard and Gallagher all joining last summer.

Now, it appears as though the same sort of makeover will occur in the midfielder, with Miliojevic a victim of that.

Despite limited playing time this season, the Serbian will be regarded highly at Selhurst Park and supporters will be gutted to see him leave.

Russell Domingo: Nurul Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim will split keeping duties during New Zealand T20Is

“The plan is to split wicketkeeping duties in this series, make it two games each and make a decision in the fifth game.”

Mohammad Isam30-Aug-2021Nurul Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim will share wicketkeeping duties in the first four matches during the T20I series against New Zealand, according to Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo. The announcement comes as a bit of a surprise after the team management habitually backed Rahim as their No 1 wicketkeeper in ODIs and T20Is despite questions raised around his keeping skills in the last few years.Rahim has kept in all but four matches in the 86 T20Is of his career, including last year’s Zimbabwe series. Liton Das kept wickets in his absence in the T20Is in New Zealand this year, before Nurul took over against Zimbabwe and Australia. The general feeling among many in Bangladesh is that Nurul is the country’s best wicketkeeper, and given his recent batting form, the team management had to make this call.Related

“(Nurul Hasan) Sohan will keep wicket in the first two games,” Domingo said. “The plan is to split wicketkeeping duties in this particular series, make it two games each and make a decision in the fifth game. I think it is important to have those options covered.”But there’s no questioning Rahim’s importance as a middle-order batter. He will bridge the top and middle order from his No 4 spot, with the expectation that he can bat deep into the slog overs where he often opens up with the big hits.”I see Mushfiq probably starting at No. 4. He is successful there. He can hold the innings together for us. He can also rotate strike in the middle overs. He can finish well for us. It is good to have him back in the squad,” Domingo said.Bangladesh have developed other types of T20 talents like Mahedi Hasan, who is used as a shock factor both with the ball and bat. Mahedi is often tasked to bowl his brand of loopy and at times slingy offspin in the powerplay. He is also considered a pinch-hitter although his domestic numbers say he is more than a capable batter in the top three in T20s.Domingo seems to enjoy having Mahedi in the mix, particularly in a batting line-up that can sometimes slow down. “He is almost a free player for us. A 20 off 12 balls from him is a big contribution for the team. He has played some important little cameos for us in certain stages.”We will use him up the order when we feel we need a little bit of aggression or explosiveness to get ahead of the run-rate, but it is not going to be a regular occurrence. He has done really well in domestic T20s, but it is a big step-up to international cricket.”Mahedi even opened the batting against Australia in the last game, and actually delivered their best opening partnership with Mohammad Naim in the series. Domingo said that the opening partnership isn’t a worry, pointing out that Naim, if he raises his game further, has the potential for a long white-ball career.”(Naim) will be a fantastic player for Bangladesh in white ball cricket. He is still finding his feet. Regarding his technique and ability, his work ethic has been fantastic. He has played some good innings for us. He has some work against spin, when trying to rotate strike. I am very pleased with his progress,” he said. The New Zealand series will also be Bangladesh’s last T20Is before the T20 World Cup, for which they have to announce the squad before September 10. Domingo said ideally, he would have liked the squad being announced before the New Zealand series.”I think the squad needs to be announced a day or two before the New Zelaand series is complete. I think we have a pretty good idea who will be in the squad. It would be great to announce the World Cup squad before we play the New Zealand series, to put players’ minds at ease.”They can go out there and play, without the fear of WC selection just around the corner. But I don’t think we can do that yet,” he said.Domingo said that Bangladesh would like to continue to dominate visiting teams, even though batting conditions may be difficult given the types of pitches that can be prepared at this time of the year in Dhaka.”Winning the series is important. We are playing at home, so we want to continue gaining confidence before the World Cup. In terms of areas of improvement, batting conditions have been really difficult. It would be great if we got some bigger scores, but that depends on what conditions allow you to do.”I think bowling confidence and getting into a winning habit is also very important, so we must make sure we continue to do that,” he said.

Lahiru Kumara and spinners combine as ruthless Sri Lanka thump clueless Netherlands

Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana shared five wickets, as Netherlands folded for the second-lowest total in T20 World Cups

Danyal Rasool22-Oct-2021This was the first dead rubber of the World Cup, and aptly enough, Sri Lanka were ruthless with their execution. Seven years after they had skittled Netherlands out for 39, the lowest T20 World Cup total, Sri Lanka condemned the same opposition to the second-lowest total too, running through them for 44 in ten overs. The chase was more batting practice than anything else, and the top order, which had misfired until now in the tournament, for the first time faced no pressure whatsoever. Even so, Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka fell cheaply, as Sri Lanka still finished the game off in just over seven overs, giving their own confidence a nice fillip ahead of the Super 12s round, they could barely have wished for a smoother evening’s work.

Netherlands collapse
There was little of substance to play for as far as Netherlands were concerned, and the moment Dasun Shanaka put them in to bat, Sri Lanka looked like they meant business. Off the fourth ball, when Max O’Dowd set off for a risky single, the captain effected a direct hit at the non-striker’s end to send the top-scoring Netherlands batter at the competition back cheaply. From thereon, it was a procession led by carrom-bowling revelation Maheesh Theekshana and legspinner Wanindu Hasaranga.Theekshana sent Ben Cooper and Stephan Myburgh back to the pavilion after rattling their middle stumps with carrom balls neither could read, while Hasaranga honed in on the pads with wrong’uns that appeared impossible for the opposition to pick. Colin Ackermann, Bas de Leede and Pieter Seelaar all failed to get their pads out of the way of the googly, and by the time a remarkable powerplay concluded, Netherlands were reduced to 37 for 6.As if that wasn’t destructive enough, Sri Lanka brought back Dushmantha Chameera and Lahiru Kumara for the lower order to face deliveries regularly north of 145kph. One struck Scott Edwards on the head that brought the physio out for a concussion test, before Kumara put him out of his misery by pitching one up into his pads. It began an over that saw him remove the final three Netherlands batters inside six balls to put paid to the innings inside ten overs, and set his batters up with a canter of a chase.Sri Lanka stroll
Ideally, Sri Lanka would have wished to see the top order run this down without the loss of a wicket to assuage concerns about an underperforming top order. However, Nissanka holed out at mid-off for a duck, while Asalanka couldn’t take advantage of his opportunity at No. 3. But Sri Lanka were in little hurry to force the issue, running the target down at a canter.Kusal Perera had time enough for a cameo that should help his confidence deeper into the tournament, an unbeaten 33 off 24 balls offering a glimpse of his belligerence in the top order. Avishka Fernando knocked off the winning runs, but for Sri Lanka today, it was all about the bowling.

Dravid formally applies to become India's head coach

Mhambrey applies for bowling coach role; Abhay, Ratra among contenders for next fielding coach

PTI26-Oct-2021Rahul Dravid has formally applied for the position of the Indian team’s head coach on Tuesday, having been touted as the heavy favourite to get the role.In addition to Dravid, former pacer Paras Mhambrey, and former wicketkeeper Ajay Ratra have applied for the positions of India’s bowling and fielding coaches respectively, with incumbents Bharat Arun and R Sridhar also set to leave after the T20 World Cup 2021. Earlier, Abhay Sharma, who has worked with Dravid at the NCA and with India A and India Women, also applied for the fielding coach’s role.”Yes, Rahul has formally applied today as it is the last day of the deadline. His team at the NCA, bowling coach Paras (Mhambrey) and fielding coach Abhay (Sharma) have already applied. His application was just a formality,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on Tuesday.Related

Dravid had recently met BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah in Dubai on the sidelines of the IPL final between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. Ganguly and Shah are understood to have spoken to him about taking up the position once Ravi Shastri steps down at the end of India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021.Dravid is expected to take charge with India’s home series against New Zealand that begins on November 17 with a T20I series, under a new captain, with Virat Kohli stepping down. Vice-captain Rohit Sharma will, in all likelihood, replace Kohli at the helm.Dravid’s selection as coach would also mean the BCCI will need to appoint a new head for the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.Ratra, who applied on Tuesday, told PTI, “It will be great if I can contribute in Team India’s success if given a chance.” Both Mhambrey and Ratra have been involved with the next rung of Indian cricketers at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.Mhambrey, one of those behind India’s successful India A and U-19 team programmes, has worked extensively with Dravid at that level too. The coaching module prepared by the NCA to ensure a smooth transition from the U-19 to India A teams and then subsequently to the main squad, has been the handiwork of Dravid and Mhambrey.Mhambrey, 49, played two Tests and three ODIs for India between 1996 and 1998. He represented the Mumbai team in domestic cricket with distinction, and took 284 wickets in 91 first-class games. He also took 111 wickets in 83 List A games. He has had success as coach too, steering Bengal to successive Ranji Trophy finals in 2005-06 and 2006-07, and also coaching Baroda.Ratra, 39, played six Tests and 12 ODIs for India, all in 2002. He represented Haryana in domestic cricket, playing 99 first-class games and 89 List A matches. Ratra is presently the head coach of Assam. He has worked with Delhi Capitals in the past in the IPL, and also been a regular at the NCA, where he worked with India keepers Wriddhiman Saha and Rishabh Pant.

Ashes bolter: Scott Boland strengthens his case for Australia call-up

The pace bowler now has 15 wickets in two Sheffield Shield matches this season

Andrew McGlashan08-Nov-2021Last week, Victoria coach Chris Rogers said he wouldn’t swap Scott Boland “for just about anyone”. After a match-winning display against New South Wales at the MCG, the caveat is perhaps not needed. In the early-season discussions about who could join the big three in Australia’s Test squad for the Ashes, there have been the usual suspects: Michael Neser, Sean Abbott and Jhye Richardson. Mark Steketee, who was part of the squad for the postponed South Africa tour, also pushed his name up there with a seven-wicket haul against South Australia. There wasn’t really much talk around Boland although he has been a hugely consistent performer for Victoria. In two matches this summer, however, that has changed. At the very least he now deserves a place in the expanded party that will form an Australia A side ahead of the first Test. The closest he has so far been to a Test cap was when he was added to a squad against West Indies in 2014-15.Related

Following his five-wicket haul on the final day he was reluctant to talk himself up too much. “It would be very nice to be recognised like that…all I can do is control what I’m doing,” he said. “You’d have to ask [national selector] George [Bailey], but think I’d be there or thereabouts but it’s not up to me.”Boland’s eight wickets at the MCG followed seven at the Drummoyne Oval to give him 15 at 10.80 this season. Since the start of last summer he has 45 at 19.60. Boland is 32, and had earned the last of his 17 limited-overs caps in 2016 which is perhaps a reason why his name hasn’t been as prominent in the debate until now. But as Rogers put it, “he’s the finished article”.One of the hallmarks of his recent performances has been his ability to take wickets on flat surfaces or with an older ball. Last season he toiled magnificently on flat Adelaide wickets, and in the early stages this summer was a constant threat on a Drummoyne Oval surface that had less life for the quicks the longer the game went on.In this latest match at the MCG, although there was always more on offer for the quicks in what was an excellent pitch, his delivery with a 62-over old ball to remove Jack Edwards and break a lengthy stand was another example.

There was some symmetry in the fact that it has been the international retirement of James Pattinson, the man he took the new ball alongside at the MCG, that has shaken up Australia’s reserve pack of quicks ahead of the Ashes.”I know there’s so many good fast bowlers around it’s going to be hard for me to get a crack but all I can do is keeping doing what I’ve been doing for the last few years and if the opportunity comes I’ll be really happy,” Boland said earlier in the game. His captain Peter Handscomb was more than willing to push his claims. “I’m happy to talk about Scotty for as long as you want,” he said. “He’s been doing this for five, sixers years, it’s nothing new. It’s incredible bowling, his figures speak for themselves. He comes out here today, breaks the game open and wins it for us in the last hour.”I’d love to see him have a crack at that next level. He’s been ready for a couple of years so if that moment does come for him I’m sure he’ll grab it with both hands and show what Australia what he’s been doing for us for a long time.”

Patidar lauds Krunal's 'courage' after triple-wicket final over

“The way KP bowled that last over, it was not easy and the way he bowled was amazing”

Shashank Kishore07-Apr-2025When Royal Challengers Bengaluru last beat Mumbai Indians at the Wankede Stadium in the IPL prior to Monday, Krunal Pandya was a struggling domestic cricketer looking to break into the big league like his younger brother, Hardik. Between 2015 and now, Krunal has been part of three title-winning campaigns with Mumbai, made his white-ball debut for India and has captained an IPL franchise, Lucknow Super Giants. On Monday, he was up against his brother – also the opposition captain – as RCB attempted to defend 221 for their first win over MI at Wankhede in 10 years. Tasked to defend 19 in the final over, Krunal picked up three of his four wickets in the 20th, while conceding just seven to seal RCB’s third win in four games.Related

“When I came into bowl, [Mitchell] Santner was batting, the leg-side was short and the amount of games I’ve played in the last 10 years, whatever experience I had, it had to come in,” Krunal said after the match. “I just wanted to have clarity in my run-up, what ball I wanted to bowl. I wanted to commit 100% to whatever I wanted to bowl and I’m glad it came out well.”Rajat Patidar, the RCB captain, was impressed by Krunal’s courage.”The way KP bowled that last over, it was not easy and the way he bowled was amazing,” he said. “The way he has shown the courage was fantastic. It was pretty clear (at the second time-out) that we had to take the game as deep as we can, and then we could use one over of KP at the last.”On his part, Krunal was effusive in his praise for Patidar’s calmness and for being one who comforts bowlers while also empowering them.”Rajat has been fantastic,” Krunal said. “He’s again a captain who gives you the comforts when he gives you the ball, he gives you the confidence, backs your game plan and as a bowler you want that. He has a calm demeanor as a person, he doesn’t make things complicated. You can see that also in how he bats.”At one stage, the Hardik v Krunal narrative formed a subplot that could’ve well decided the game. Hardik hit Krunal for two sixes off the first two balls he faced of him in the 15th over after which MI fancied their chances needing 65 off 30 with six wickets in hand. Hardik eventually fell in the penultimate over before Krunal closed down the game for RCB with his triple-wicket over.”The bond that we have, at the end of the day, we knew only one [Pandya] would win.” Krunal said. “But the love and affection we have for each other is very natural. He batted well. We won, and I also wanted to win, he also wanted to win. I feel for him.”

Ben Brown century puts Hampshire safe in impending stalemate

Hampshire captain gets first century in new role to guide team’s rearguard

ECB Reporters Network supported by Rothesay04-May-2025Ben Brown scored his first century as Hampshire captain to eliminate fears of an innings defeat to Durham in the Rothesay County Championship.Hampshire were still 92 runs away from avoiding the follow-on when Toby Albert was the sixth man to depart, but Brown and Felix Organ ticked through the required runs with a 164 stand.Brown replaced James Vince – who has moved to Dubai – as club captain in the winter and led from the front with a patient unbeaten 143.Hampshire ended the day on 429 for seven, trailing by 82, with Organ, Mark Stoneman and Nick Gubbins also recording half-centuries – with Matthew Potts’ three for 62 the best for Durham’s bowlers. The hosts have very little hope of winning the match after Durham had racked up 511 on the opening two days, and regular wickets through the morning put them in deep peril.Stoneman only added three runs to his overnight 57 – which had been his first half-century sine arriving on the south coast from Middlesex – before he edged Potts behind off his inside edge.Tom Prest was guilty of stretching too far outside off stump when he was caught behind, while Liam Dawson was bowled by a Potts delivery which kept a tad low – as the pitch appeared to be working slightly better for the bowlers. The opening two days have been a turgid batting-fest with a used pitch not disintegrating has expected in the hot sun.But some occasional turn for the spinners and bouts invariable bounce gave Hampshire’s batters a few moments of worry.Toby Albert was more out-gunned by Codi Yusuf’s pace when he was bowled, as Hampshire’s fears of being asked to bat again began to raise. But Organ, a highly competent batter who has opened the batting regularly in the past, was a welcome sight coming in at No.8.Brown had bumped himself higher up the order from seven to five, seemingly to give more stability in the face of wickets. He picked his moments to jab at deliveries in his textbook manner, while occasionally negating the lower bounce by crouching lower to meet the ball at its trajectory.A half-century came in 102 balls before a fifth century for the Rose and Crown came in 178 balls – it was the 26th of his first-class career.Hampshire only picked up two batting bonus points, but at 17:00 BST their deficit had dipped under 150 and the game felt safer – only a monumental effort could stop this match from becoming a draw.Organ, on his first appearance of the summer, reached his half-century in 124 deliveries but fell when he edged George Drissell to first slip. His partnership with Brown was the highest seventh wicket stand for Hampshire against Durham almost doubling a 2007 record set by Michael Brown and Shane Warne.

Chopra on Suryavanshi: 'There is some amount of maturity already'

Sanjay Bangar is hoping Vaibhav Suryavanshi can handle “all the hype and the hoopla that will surround him” after his smashing debut in the IPL

ESPNcricinfo staff21-May-20253:08

Chopra: Suryavanshi has already shown maturity

Rajasthan Royals’ campaign never really took off in IPL 2025, where they won just four out of 14 games and finished second last on the table. But one of the brightest sparks of this season – across teams – came from the RR camp: Vaibhav Suryavanshi. On Tuesday, Suryavanshi signed off with 57 off 33 balls against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In the seven matches he played this season, 14-year-old Suryavanshi accumulated 252 runs at an impressive strike rate of 206.55. This included his hundred off just 35 balls in his third IPL game.”Initially when you saw him – and I’ve seen a lot of his clips and the clips that you end up seeing before the guy actually plays the IPL – [the videos] were all of him hitting sixes, just standing and just delivering, fast bowlers, spinners alike,” Aakash Chopra said on ESPNcricinfo’s Time Out show. “And then you start thinking maybe he’s a bit of a slogger, who just sees the ball and hits the ball and he’s got no other gear. He has scored a lot of runs, but again, let’s say it’s [age] group cricket and all of that.Related

  • So near, yet so far – the story of Rajasthan Royals' season

  • Madhwal leads bowlers' show as RR end the season by beating CSK

  • Suryavanshi is a rare talent – to nurture it, you need to protect it

“And then he scored that century, takes centre stage and in that century also, he was just hitting. But now when you see him waiting patiently at the non-striker’s end and that’s exactly what happened today. When Yashasvi Jaiswal was hitting every ball for a four, he was patiently at the other end. He was, okay, 37-run partnership where he contributed only one. And then he waited and then he batted and he’s happy to now rotate strike as well.”Even in the previous game, when Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh were bowling to him, he had a clear-cut plan that ‘if the ball is slightly short, I’m going to play it safely; but if it comes into my range, then it does not matter whether your name is Marco Jansen or Arshdeep Singh, you’re getting deposited into the stands’. So, there is some amount of maturity already for us.”Now that Suryavanshi is done with RR for the IPL season, Sanjay Bangar wants him to focus fully on the cricket and not the external hype.”The real challenge for him would be to deal with matters, non-cricketing matters,” Bangar said. “At this stage, how can he stay away from all the hype and the hoopla that will surround him. So, that is a major challenge.”Apart from that, can he maintain the same sort of game plan? Because this is something which is god-gifted. Or maybe he’s worked very hard but there is apparent talent there. And he has to stay true to it. Because there will be whispers that, ‘okay, bat a little bit differently, understand the game, understand the situations’. But all those things will come with time. And I think if he continues in this fashion, you have a guy who can dominate both space and spin.”And what I loved about this particular innings is that we saw a lot of off-side shots as well. We saw a couple of shots over covers. We saw some off-side cover drives, copybook style. So, it means that it’s not just on-sided here, which came to the fore when they played against GT [Gujarat Titans]. But here you had a greater range of shots. And I think he has to stay true to his game and stick to the game that works well.”
